After a few years of work, the brand new Low-Level Crossing Bridge in Wakamow Valley is officially open to the public.

Todd Johnson, General Manager of the Wakamow Valley Authority, explains where exactly this new crossing is.

"If you were to take 4th Avenue South and just kept driving, you'll see there's a barricade there and you can't drive any further. If you park right there and get out and walk to the bottom of the hill, you will see the bridge on your right side. Now currently you can travel from Connors Park which is on 9th Avenue all the way to Plaxton Lake."

And with the warmer weather finally here and of course social distancing restrictions in place, there have never been more people out enjoying Wakamow Valley.

"We've probably seen an increase four-fold with the number of people that are down here, enjoying the park and getting out. We've got over 500 acres that people can just spread out through, and 20km of paths. On all of our bridges, people are giving each other the right of way, waiting for the other person to cross, people are really being kind to each other."

Connecting Paashkwow Park West and Kingsway Eco Zone, the four seasons crossing will allow people to cross the waterway that previously disconnected the two areas.
