After a long journey, Tourism Moose Jaw's new trolley is expected to hit the streets sometime next week.

Executive Director Jacki L'Heureux-Mason says the finishing touches are now being applied.

"I just went and visited it on Monday and it is beautiful," she exclaimed. "I am so excited about it. We had to make a little bit of a change just based on some availability on what colour we ended up wrapping it but I think it ended up being exactly the way it should have been."

She notes the look of the new trolley will be a bit different from the one that is currently being used.

"There's no wood on it or anything like that. It's not modelled after the same kind of 1911 streetcar but what this is, it does have the charm. Think maybe more of a San Francisco-type trolley, but it is sleek and it is elegant and I will tell you, the comfort of the bucket seats, air conditioning, heating and wheelchair accessibility, just makes all the changes worth it."

The current trolley will be kept as a backup, and will be available to reserve for events such as weddings or family reunions.

L'Heureux-Mason says the plan is to run the new trolley later in the season and have it available for Halloween and Twinkle Tours.

Tourism Moose Jaw is currently operating three different trolley tours including the daytime tour, ghost tour, and true crime tour.
