After years of work, the new Buffalo Pound to Moose Jaw water supply transmission line is almost ready to be put to use.

Residents in or around the pump house, south of the Lynbrook golf course, may have noticed a large amount of water flushing from a pipe into the spring creek. City Communications Manager, Craig Hemingway, says that's just all a part of some of the final work that needs to be done before the line is operational.

"What's happening now is that brand new transmission line that was installed a few years ago, what we're doing is flushing and disinfecting that line. It looks like the week of April 12; the first pump of the new transmission line will come into service."

The new transmission line was installed back in 2018 with work taking place on the new line since then. Hemingway says he's glad that the project is finally nearing completion.

"There's still some electrical work that has to be done, but we are able to get the new transmission line commissioned while the rest of that work is being completed, and probably sometime in June is when everything will be done."

Residents shouldn't notice any disruption to their water during the work taking place this week or the week of April 12.
