Lutefisk and Lefsa were on the table for Moose Javians in the city's first ever Norway Day May 17 and the success of that will likely see more of them in the future.

The Moose Truce between the city of Moose Jaw and Stor-Elvdal, Norway, saw the Norwegian town's deputy mayor Linda Otnes-Henriksen become a celebrity here, but there are no plans currently for the mayor of Moose Jaw to go to Norway.

Mayor Fraser Tolmie said he would love to go.

"I'd love to repay that generosity that Linda had for coming over and visiting our community," said Tolmie. "I think she was a real hit. But I do know that they have elections coming up in September, so I think that's something we need to pay attention to, and then the following year we do have elections ourselves."

He said if things work out, he wants to go, but there are no solid plans.

"If something were to work out, we'd try to make that happen," he said. "We'll just leave it open to build a bridge between our communities."
