There will be 22 for city council, 3 for mayor, and 2 for the Holy Trinity Catholic School Board to chose from when we vote October 25th.

22 for city council, 3 for mayor, and 2 for the Holy Trinity Catholic School Board. That's what we have to choose from as Nomination Day has come and gone in the city of Moose Jaw for this civic election.

With the deadline in the books City Solicitor Steven Schiefner can take today to relax a bit before getting down to the nitty gritty. "Technically we don't do anything until the close of the Withdraw Period and after that point in time we will start preparing the ballots for the races where we have more candidates than we have positions. In the case of elections where we didn't get enough nominations we will put out a second call for nominations."

The election Schiefner is referring to is the Holy Trinity Catholic School Board. We have two candidates, Gisele Belanger and Sheri McMann but four positions are available. The two candidates will win by acclamation and then another call for nominations will be made for the remaining two.

Candidates have until 4 o'clock Thursday to remove their names from the ballot if they happen to change their minds.
