A fatal collision on a grid road north of Montmartre, in southeast Saskatchewan, has left one person dead, and sent five others to hospital. 

The collision was reported by the Indian Head RCMP detachment to have occurred around 11:30 a.m. Friday, as two trucks collided at an intersection.  

There were five people, an adult and four children, in one truck, which was travelling south on Grid 606, all from the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation area. They were all transported to hospital after the collision, with one going by STARS Air Ambulance.  

The driver of the other truck, a man from the Glenavon area, was reported as deceased at the scene.  

First responders from Montmartre, Fillmore, Indian Head and Grenfell all responded to the call. The Indian Head RCMP, the RCMP Collision Reconstruction Team and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service also responded. 

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the RCMP.
