One resident in their 80s who tested positive for COVID-19 has died, as the province announced 153 new cases Friday.

The individual was the 33rd resident to die in relation to COVID-19 since March.

Of the new cases, 42 are in Saskatoon, 20 in the southeast, 16 in the far north-central region, 14 in Regina, 14 in the north-central zone, 14 in the southwest, 11 in the northwest, four in the far northeast, four in the central east, four in the south-central zone, three in the far northwest, two in the central west, and one in the northeast. 2,145 cases are considered active.

Another 73 recoveries were also announced, which bring the total number of recoveries to 3,626.

85 people are in hospital, with 66 receiving inpatient care and 19 in intensive care.
