22 of the 23 active cases located in the south-central zone are in the sub-region 'south-central 2' which is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area. 

The south-central region of Saskatchewan, which includes Moose Jaw, has finally received its first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines this week.

Phase 1 of the vaccine plan began in the city with 78 doses administered on Wednesday at Pioneer Lodge Care Home.

Three more residents who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died - including one from the south-central zone, as 146 new cases were announced Friday, and 77 recoveries.

The death in the south-central zone was located in south-central 2 sub-region that is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area.

One of the deaths reported was in the 50-59 age group from the northwest, one was in the 80 plus age group from the Regina zone, and the death in the south-central zone was an individual in the 70-79 age group.

Of the new cases, 32 are in Saskatoon, 30 in Regina, 26 in the north-central zone, 16 in the northwest, 13 in the far northwest, 11 in the central-east, nine in the far northeast, four in the southeast, two in the northeast, one in the far north-central zone, one in the southwest, and one in the south-central zone. Two cases are pending resident information.
