Are you ready to rock like it’s 1980?

If you are, the Moose Jaw Health Foundation has the event for you, as they have announced their latest fundraiser – “Healthcare Rocks”. This event will be hitting the Mae Wilson Theater on Saturday, Mar. 18.

This one-night-only event brings the best in rock and roll and Moose Jaw’s healthcare workers together to help raise funds for the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.

Kelly McElree, executive director of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation says this is a night you will not want to miss.

“It’s going to be an electrifying rock concert,” says McElree.

Shaking the Mae Wilson Theater all night long will be the longest-touring AC/DC tribute band, Hells Bells from Toronto, making their first trip to Moose Jaw. This is a performance you will not want to miss!

McElree is encouraging everyone attending to dress like their favourite 80s rockstar and be back in black.

“Pull all of those rock and roll T-shirts out of the closet and wear them, grow a mullet, do anything.”

Making a special appearance at the event will be Leroy and Leroy, as Leroy in front of the camera will be the evening’s MC.

“It sounds like a good time! Kelly asked if I wanted to recognize some healthcare heroes and listen to rock and roll music and I said yes,” says Leroy. “I just found out right now that I’m actually MCing. It should be a great night.”

The funds raised have been earmarked to bring new diagnostic imaging technology to the hospital that will allow healthcare workers to hit the right note with their patients.

“Critical care equipment for our ICU like a new start-of-the-art ICU bed, glideslope for the ER, and I got a request for pediatric nurse training,” explains McElree. Every single dollar that we raise from Healthcare Rocks is going to help out patients at our hospital.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Jan. 18, at 12:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre Box Office or online at sasktix.ca.
