The Prairie South School Division released an update on remote learning.

Schools in and around Regina have extended their remote learning period for two weeks after Easter break to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in the area.

Schools in the Prairie South division are set to return to in-person classes on April 12, but Moose Jaw is still considered an area of concern due to the variants.

Prairie South released a statement saying they have several meetings next week with public health to be sure about the current COVID-19 information.

"While we hope to be back to in-person learning as described, we believe it may be wise for parents to consider that an extension of remote learning may be required," says Prairie South in the statement.

Prairie South also says, "We are doing our best to ensure the safety of your children and our employees, but without cautious behavior in your homes and community activities, our efforts have less chance of success."
