Donna Bowyer tells City Council about SafeTalk

Suicide is a silent killer in Canada. No one wants to talk about it and friends are often lost without even realizing there was a problem. Would you know how to handle it if a friend asked for help?

May 6th will be a very informational day in the City of Moose Jaw. Donna Bowyer and the Canadian Mental Health Association will be hosting a SafeTalk course. The presentation is designed to help us identify and deal with potential suicides. What questions to ask, where to seek help and what are the warning signs.

"Last year we lost 11 people in our health region to suicide and of those 11 people, the majority of them were middle aged men."

Bowyer says the Five Hills Health Region has the third highest suicide rate in the province and we need to do something about it.
