Ryland Pashovitz (#35) has finished his AAA Generals career in Moose Jaw, and his parents wrote a wonderful "Thank You" note to our city - read below

Dear Editor,

Today as we drive down the road 2 hours from Saskatoon to Moose Jaw one last time, we say goodbye to our friends and team mates to attend the final AAA awards banquet for our son. It's hard to believe it's over it feels like just yesterday we were pulling into town for the first time with a truck load of all our sons belongings.  To drop him off in the "friendly city"  where we would leave him in your hands for the next 2 hockey seasons! We had no idea what to expect, but his experience there has been above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined!  You couldn't have made him feel more welcome or at home!  What a treat to get to break in Mosaic Place!! Every hockey player should be so lucky!

It is with great gratitude that we say "Thank you" to all the many people that had a part in our sons Midget hockey career.  The Moose Jaw Generals, treated our son with so much respect and helped him grow and develop so much as a hockey player but more importantly as a person.  There are so many people to thank in our 2 years with the team, Coach Ray, Assistant coach Jeremy , video trainer Darwin, trainer John our equipment team Kevin and Chris and also Fern, Thank you staff for your leadership and support! The list goes on... to all the many, many generous volunteers, from the scorekeepers to the great music played to get the boys pumped for the games..to Dave and Cathy for sitting at the entrance game after game,  THANK YOU to absolutely everyone and anyone that took on a volunteer job during the hockey season, so we parents could just sit and enjoy, we appreciate the time you took out of your busy lives for the Generals!  Not only were you volunteers but also our greatest fans!  To the other families, we were so fortunate to have met you and it was a privilege to share this the experience with your boys.  Good times!  We lovedmeeting you all.

Thank you to our sons billet family Amber and her son Jack Cameron.  Just what you needed...a teenager!  Thank you for your guidance, for all the extra things you did for our son....homework, calling teachers, preparing meals, laundry etc..and for your love and support...especially after a loss!  You definitely went above and beyond the call of a billet family, to the point that we just simply call you Family!  We will never be able to repay your kindness and generosity. Thanks to all the billet families, for opening up your hearts and homes to our boys!

We would like to thank  all the Moose Jaw media outlets, the coverage the Generals receive is truly second to none in the SMAAAHL.   It was so fun to check the online papers everyday, all the reports and photos made for a great scrapbook that we will cherish forever! Thank you Marc Smith at Discover Moosejaw and Katie Brickman, at MooseJaw Times Herald and to any other writers that took part in reporting Generals schedules and scores, ups and downs, victories and defeat!  Keep writing great pieces, the Generals are lucky to have your support!

To all the many sponsors, our thanks could not be greater, your support and donations to the team did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Special thanks to Hunters Mens Wear, for donating dress shirts for the "Player of the Game" award, very generous and stylish donation!  Also a shout out to Moose Jaw Collision Center, whom we met after our sons fender bender..Thanks, truck looks just like new!  Thank you to all Generals sponsors!!!!!

Thanks to Vanier Collegiate  for putting up with lates and absences, tired hockey players monday mornings (or every morning).  We are greatful to the teachers who volunteered extra time when needed and to Vanier for welcoming, educating and accommodating your temporary students.

Thank you Moose Jaw, it has been a great 2 seasons, you could not have been kinder or more supportive to our son!  As his midget career closes, and another chapter opens it is with tremendous gratitude we say "thank you" you welcomed a stranger into your town and made him a Moose Javian for life!

Best wishes to the future Moose Jaw Generals teams, We will never forget you and always be cheering for you.

Thanks again.

yours in hockey
