Saskatchewan’s summer free fishing weekend will be taking place July 13-14. 

During the weekend, residents and visitors can reel in the fun and give angling a try with no license required. Free fishing weekend does not apply in national parks. Anyone planning to fish out-of-province will still need a purchase a valid fishing license. 

All other fishing regulations and limits still apply during the free fishing weekend. 

Free fishing weekend have been taking place in Saskatchewan since 1989 to promote the angling opportunities within the province. A winter free fishing weekend was added in 2015.  

The provincial government says more than 250,000 people take up sport fishing in Saskatchewan each year.
