The B.C. Lions couldn't come through for the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday night in the final game of the CFL regular season.

The Calgary Stampeders went into B.C. Place and knocked off the Lions, 26-9, to snap their three-game losing skid and win the West Division’s regular season title.

Calgary (13-5) will now have a bye into the West Final, while Saskatchewan (12-6) will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-8) next Sunday in the West Semi-Final, which will be the first playoff game played at Mosaic Stadium and the first time that the two rivals have met for a playoff game in Saskatchewan since 1975. It's also the first playoff meeting between the Riders and Bombers since the 2007 Grey Cup.

The Riders and Bombers kick-off next Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in Regina.

The Lions (9-9) will crossover to the East Division and battle the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8-10) next Sunday, noon, in the East Semi-Final. The Ottawa Redblacks (11-7) won the East Division and will host the East Final.

Riders Sign Veteran Quarterback

The Saskatchewan Roughriders added some insurance at the quarterback position heading into the playoffs.

Veteran Quarterback Drew Tate is coming out of retirement as he signed with the Riders on Saturday.

The move is preemptive as Zach Collaros' status remains up in the air heading into the playoffs. He left the Riders' regular-season finale against B.C. in Week 20 after taking a headshot from Lions defensive end Odell Willis.

Tate originally broke into the CFL with the Riders in 2007, but made his mark with the Stampeders, playing eight seasons in Calgary from 2009-16. He played his final season with the Ottawa Redblacks.

In 48 career games, Tate has 5,008 yards, 35 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

He won the Grey Cup in 2014 with the Stampeders.
