The opposition party has their troops lined up here in Moose Jaw as the Saskatchewan Party prepares for the next provincial election.

The Saskatchewan Party is ready for the next provincial election in Moose Jaw as they have their two candidates lined up to take on the NDP.

Warren Michelson won the nomination in the Moose Jaw North Constituency on Monday night. Thursday night, the Sask. Party held a meeting to announce the acclamation of Gwen Beitel in Moose Jaw Wakamow.

Beitel says she doesn't mind being acclaimed, but a contested nomination would have been more than welcome. "They drive the interest level up and encourage people to get out and sell memberships but just because we don't have a contested nomination doesn't mean to say that there isn't any less energy or enthusiasm. We're ready for the task at hand."

Beitel was defeated soundly by the NDP's Deb Higgins in the last provincial election.

There has still be no word from the NDP camp on whether or not their current MLA's will run in the next election. In fact the NDP government has yet to call an election.
