Saskatchewan has the highest crime rate in the country.

Statistics Canada has released 2005 numbers and shows that Saskatchewan's overall crime rate is the highest in the country for the past 8 years.

Although the crime rate has fallen in the past year Sask. Party Justice Critic Don Morgan says it's still way too high.

"We have seen an overall drop in crime of five percent nation wide and Saskatchewan has six percent. Even though we are on par with what the national average drop has been, we have doubled the national average for crime in this province."

Statistics show that in cities, Saskatoon and Regina have the highest rate for break-ins in the country.
