SCRAPS weekly Thursday night markets are continuing until September 26.

Gail Duchak, fundraiser coordinator with SCRAPS, said the markets, which take place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. behind St. Andrew’s United Church, help them fund the volunteer work that they do.

“The funds are used for the vet care of the cats that come into our care. It’s kitten season, so we’re getting a lot of calls about kittens.,” said Duchak.

“We also run a TNR, which is a trap, neuter, and release program, where there are community cats in certain locations in Moose Jaw, and they are cared for by the volunteers. They’re fed, watered, and vetted and looked after.”

Items you can find at the market include chocolates, resin art, freeze-dried candy, knitted or crocheted items, and wooden products.

If you’re interested in becoming a vendor for the markets, table rental is $15. Contact SCRAPS for more information at (306) 684-9048 or at

Dutchak said that SCRAPS is also looking for fosters, and people can either send them a message on Facebook or visit them at the Town N Country Mall on Fridays (12 p.m. - 4 p.m.), Saturdays (12 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.), and Sundays (12 p.m. - 4 p.m.) to express their interest.
