The Moose Jaw RCMP is still searching for a missing teen, following an incident at Buffalo Pound Lake on Friday night.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Moose Jaw RCMP received a report of a missing teenager at Barney’s Beach near Buffalo Pound Provincial Park.

Initial investigation indicates five teenagers were walking and swimming in the water when the wind and waves swept one of them out into the water. The teen was not immediately located.

Moose Jaw RCMP, Moose Jaw Search, and Rescue, STARS Air Ambulance and conservation officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch all attended the scene.

Police and searchers will be in the area on Saturday. The public is asked to avoid Barney’s Beach and to respect all directions given by first responders in the area.
