Sidewalk Days is just around the corner and the organizers are looking forward to it being one of the biggest on record.

“We’ve never seen anything like this, we’ve got 249 numbered spots and every one of them is taken,” said Jackie L’Heureux-Mason, executive director of Tourism Moose Jaw. “What I love is the incredible diversity of our vendors this year ... it’s going to be busy; we can tell.”

An equally impressive number of volunteers will take part in the festivities, assisting with all aspects of keeping such a big event moving along.

“We actually hit our record number of volunteers, we have just about 90 this year, which is so amazing. Last year we had maybe 70 and it was still a push,” said Sydney Woodrow, Summer Events Co-Ordinator

“With this amount of people, it’s going to be so much better, so much smoother. We are really grateful to have all of them.”

As is tradition with the Sidewalk Days festival, a number of acts will participate in the Battle of the Bands. Offering attendees a chance to take in some live music in between the sweet treats, local shopping opportunities and all the event has to offer.

“This week we actually picked our four bands that will be competing, they’re very talented and I can’t wait for you to see them,” said Paige McClinton, Summer Events Co-Ordinator. "On Thursday and Friday, our headlines are the Tilted Kilts, Trick Ryder, Lights Out and The UnCoolas, and it’s going to be an amazing show.

A new addition that will be launched at this year’s Sidewalk Days Festival is an event-wide scavenger hunt, the details of which are still under wraps and will be released ahead of the festival.

“The concept is to get down there and meet the sponsors, go take some pictures, be present with some of these sponsors, and the prize list we have is incredible. We can’t wait to share that!” said L'Heureux-Mason.

The Sidewalk Days Festival kicks off on Thursday, July 4, at 10 a.m. and runs until Saturday, July 6, 2024, and just like years prior, will bring everyone together on Main Street for three days of outdoor fun in true Moose Jaw fashion.
