The leaves are falling and there is a chill is in the air. It's autumn in southern Saskatchewan. And while the average temperature for this time of year is 17, we're only expecting a high of 8 Saturday.

Overnight, we can expect another chance of frost, with periods of snow Sunday and flurries on Tuesday.

"As we go from Sunday afternoon into Monday, we'll see that high-pressure system shift out of the region," Drew Lerner with World Weather Inc. explains. "As it does it will pull some moisture and warmth out of the northern US plain, many areas to the southwest of Highway 16 will have a potential for picking up a little bit of snow and rain as we go from Sunday night into Monday morning."

Even though we'll see some snow, it won't be here for long and should melt relatively fast with highs still being in the positives.

"This early in the season we're still not expecting snowfall to stick around," Environment Canada's Alyssa Petersen said. "We do, seasonally in October, we do still see temperatures well above zero."
