Their season comes to a close Friday afternoon and yet a new chapter is about to start for the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

The team from 15 Wing will fly their last show of the season Friday to close out their 45th anniversary year.  A special re-union of sorts is also being held this weekend to mark the occasion and introduce former Moose Javian Les Gould as their new honorary Colonel.

"I'm there to tell everyone how good the men and women of 431 Squadron really are and after seeing all of the hard work and behind the scenes and everything that goes on, I can tell you that these fine men and women." said Gould.

Gould has been a friend of the team for 35 years and has never missed an season opener or year end performance.

The show today is for friends and family but if you look to the south, you'll be able to see the team take to the sky around 1:30. About 350 Snowbird alumni are in Moose Jaw for the event this weekend.
