After a week of well below zero temperatures that arrived ahead of schedule, the little snow that's left could be gone within a day or two as things return to normal temperatures.

The seasonal average high for this time of year is 8.6 degrees, and temperatures are expected to surpass that number today and remain above zero every day for the rest of the week. That could mean some rainy weather ahead as well.

Environment Canada regional meteorologist Terri Lang.

"We're warming up to above freezing for the first time in a while. We're going to see the winds kick up from the west and that's going to bring in some really mild air," Lang said. "We're looking for highs above zero, so that's going to feel quite tropical after the cold air we've experienced the last couple of weeks."

According to Lang, the 30-year average for this time of year is a high around eight degrees, while lows have hit about minus three, so we've been running below average for the past week or two. The temperature is going to return to average now, or possibly even above it.

"We've got a forecasted high of plus 14 on Sunday, but I think that might be a little bit on the optimistic side," said Lang. "I'd be surprised if that actually came to fruition but we'll keep an eye on it."
