15 charges this month alone and unfortunately, Moose Jaw Police are expecting to arrest more people in the next few days for impaired driving.

Sgt. Cliff Froehlich tells us they're finding more and more people are drinking and then getting behind the wheel, creating a very dangerous situation.

"Our numbers are up. Right now, in Moose Jaw we're at 169 impaired drivers and that was to about mid-December. 2011, we were at 158 and 2010 we were at 159. We're up a little bit now and we still got a couple weeks to go before the end of the year so I'm going to guess we'll probably hit that 175 mark."

Stop checks are out in full force for the holiday season and Froehlich says they really use those as a reminder to find a safe ride home.  Around the province, 113 people had been charged during the first two weeks of December as part of the stop checks.
