The new Western Hockey League season opens up tonight in eight cities across western Canada including Regina where the Moose Jaw Warriors get it going versus the Pats.  The same two teams will play at the Moose Jaw Events Centre tomorrow night. 

We'll have all the live, play-by-play action on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo. Tonight's pre-game show starts at 6:40 p.m. 

The U-18 Winmar Warriors open their new season on home ice tonight against the Battlefords.  The same two teams go at it tomorrow at noon - both games at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. 

In local high school football tonight, the Central Cyclones play the Vanier Vikings at 7 p.m. at Elks Field. 

In senior high school volleyball action last night the Vanier girls defeated Notre Dame 3 sets to 1, the Briercrest girls downed Central 3 sets to 2, the Vanier boys beat Avonlea 3 sets to 0, the Cornerstone boys picked up a win over Central 3 sets to 2 and the Assiniboia boys won over Peacock 3 sets to 0. 

CFL Friday night football tonight features the Hamilton Tigers Cats and Montreal Alouettes.  Saskatchewan gets the bye this weekend.  The Riders play in Winnipeg a week from tonight. 

Results from the NFL’s Thursday night football the Cleveland Browns beat Pittsburgh 29-17. 

And the Toronto Blue Jays lost 10-5 to the Rays in Tampa Bay last night.
