The Moose Jaw Warriors took a split of their weekend games beating Prince Albert at home 4-3 on Friday and then finishing the weekend with a 4-1 loss in Brandon to the Wheat Kings on Saturday. Brandon was able to score early in each period. 

"Anytime you start a period or a game you want to start on time and start pushing the pace and playing to your strengths and I think we fell behind at the start of each period," says assistant coach, Scott King, following Saturday night's loss. "Early in the season, we had a lot of guys coming back from [NHL] camps, so we'll be better as we move along in the season."

The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday at the Hangar as they welcome the Saskatoon Blades with a 7:00 p.m. start. 

Moose Jaw's Winmar AAA Warriors went 0-2 this past weekend losing 4-3 in a shootout on Saturday night to the Tisdale Trojans and then 7-2 on Sunday night in Saskatoon to the Contacts. The U18 Warriors will have a full week of practice and be back on Saturday afternoon against the Prince Albert Mintos at 1:30 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. 

The U18 and U15 AA Warriors opened their season over the weekend. The U18's lost 6-1 to the Regina Rangers, while the U15's lost 5-1 to the Regina Aces on Saturday, and then 7-4 to the Regina Pat Blues on Sunday. 

In Moose Jaw high school football action over the weekend the Vanier Vikings are in the win column after a 15-13 win over the Estevan Elecs, while the Peacock Tornadoes dropped a 48-0 decision to the unbeaten Yorkton Raiders. 

In case you missed it, the Saskatchewan Roughriders lost 31-13 to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Friday night CFL action. 

And the Toronto Blue Jays clinched a wild-card playoff spot over the weekend after a three-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox. They take on Baltimore on Monday in their final series of the regular season.
