The Moose Jaw Warriors wrapped up their pre-season play with a pair of losses in a home-and-home series against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Samuel Borschowa had Moose Jaw's lone goal in Brandon on Friday night as the Warriors dropped a 9-1 decision. 

The next night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre, Eric Alarie scored for the Warriors in a 4-1 loss.

The Warriors open their regular season Friday night in Prince Albert against the Raiders. Moose Jaw's home opener is Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre when they welcome the Wheat Kings. The Moose Jaw Winmar AAA Warriors split a pair of weekend games. The Regina Pat Canadians walked away with an 8-5 over the Warriors on Friday night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. However, on Sunday, the Warriors travelled to Swift Current and came away with a 6-1 win over the Legionnaires.

Over to high school football, the Vanier Vikings opened their nine-aside season with a 41-21 loss to Lumsden on Friday night at Elks Athletics Field. Meanwhile, in 12-aside action, the Central Cyclones down the Peacock Tornadoes 38-7 in the last game on Friday.

In high school volleyball,  the Central Collegiate senior boys volleyball team kicked off the season with a fourth-place finish in the Thunder Creek Classic tournament.

In the CFL, the Saskatchewan Roughriders will look to rebound after losing their second straight game. The riders dropped a 36-27 decision to the Edmonton Elks on Friday night. the riders head to Ottawa this Friday to face the 3-10 Redblacks.

Finally, the Toronto Blue Jays picked up a 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox yesterday to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Jays have the day off before starting a three-game series against the New York Yankees. The Jays are a half-game up on Seattle in the American League wild-card race.
