It wasn't the way that the Moose Jaw Warriors wanted to start their three-game Alberta road trip, as they fell to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday 4-1. Atley Calvert was the lone goal scorer for Moose Jaw and Connor Ungar made 29 saves in the loss. 

Assistant Coach, Gord Burnett had this to say after Wednesday's game.

"We had a lot of Grade-A chances tonight but you're not going to score if you don't hit the net," says Burnett. "We worked to get there and worked hard to create the chances but we have to hit the net and at least give yourself a chance if it's a second or third opportunity on a rebound."

The Warriors will now head to Edmonton and battle with the Oil Kings on Friday night. Catch all the action on Country 100.

Sticking with the Warriors, goaltender Connor Ungar was rewarded with a very impressive January as he named the WHL's goaltender of the month on Wednesday. The product of Calgary posted a 2.37 goals-against average and .993 save percentage to go with his 8-1-0-3 record. 

The Moose Jaw WINMAR AAA Warriors will continue with with seven-game homestand on Friday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. They welcome the Swift Current Legionnaires for the final time this season. Things get rolling at 7:00 p.m. 

In Junior girl's basketball action on Wednesday, Vanier took down CCS 45-29. 

In the lone Canadian NHL game on Wednesday, Toronto fell to Boston 5-2. 

And the Toronto Raptors have the day off after a tight 131-128 loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. Fred VanVleet had his second career triple-double with 34 points, a career-high 12 rebounds and 10 assists for Toronto. The Raptors next play the league-worst Houston Rockets on Friday in the sixth of a seven-game road trip.
