The Moose Jaw Miller Express started off their two-game road trip on a losing note dropping a 9-3 decision on Wednesday night to the Weyburn Beavers.  The Millers’ will look to rebound on Thursday night in Regina, as they take on the Red Sox at Currie Field at 7:05 p.m. With Swift Current losing 7-6 to the Red Sox on Wednesday night, Moose Jaw still holds a four-game lead over the 57s atop the Western Canadian Baseball League’s East Division.   

In Minor Baseball... The 18U AAA Canucks are off until Sunday as they travel to Swift Current for a double-header with the 57s. The 18U AAs don’t play again until July 6 when they travel to Regina to take on the Pacers. The 15U AAA Canucks will travel to Okotoks over the Canada Day long weekend for an exhibition game against the White Butte Broncos on Friday.    

In the CFL Thursday Night Football. The BC Lions are in Ottawa to take on the Redblacks. On Canada Day the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be hosting the Calgary Stampeders. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are hosting the Montreal Alouettes in a rematch on Saturday. To round out the weekend Winnipeg will make a visit to Toronto on Monday.

The Toronto Blue Jays will continue to try and move up in the American League East as they host the Tampa Bay Rays for a four-game series starting tonight at the Rogers Centre.  

A Quebec Major Junior Hockey League squad has once again hoisted the Memorial Cup. The Saint John Sea Dogs downed the Hamilton Bulldogs 6-3 in the final yesterday to win their second Canadian Hockey League championship. The Sea Dogs were ousted from the first round of the Q-M-J-H-L playoffs back in May but made it to the Memorial Cup as hosts of the four-team tournament.
