The new Western Hockey League season is just around the corner. The Moose Jaw Warriors kick off the new season tomorrow night in Prince Albert against the Raiders. The Warriors' home opener is Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Both games start at 7 p.m. and can be heard on Country 100.

The Winmar AAA Warriors also start their regular season this weekend when they host the Battlefords Stars at the Moose Jaw Events Centre tomorrow night at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m.

Former Moose Javian Trehvan McMorris had a year to remember on the provincial motocross circuit this year. McMorris was the MX 2 and MX 3 provincial champion after 12 races on tracks around Saskatchewan. He also won the dedication and desire award as voted on by the Saskatchewan motocross membership.

Week 16 in the CFL gets underway tomorrow night. The Saskatchewan Roughriders look to snap a two-game losing skid when they travel to Ottawa to face the 3-10 Redblacks.

In Major League Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays will look to sweep a three-game series against the New York Yankees tonight. The Jays downed the Yankees 6-1 last night. The Jays remain one game up on Texas and Seattle for the final wild card spot in the American League.

The NFL kicks off Week 3 tonight as the New York Giants take on the San Fransisco 49ers.
