TEACHER, JOURNALIST, ARTIST, TRAVELLER

L. F. Patricia Stevens of Moose Jaw passed away on August 10, 2012 at the age of 87. Pat’s first career was in journalism as a reporter for the Ottawa Citizen. She moved to back to Moose Jaw in 1958 with husband Barry, to raise a family and eventually begin a second career as a teacher. Pat taught twenty years at William Grayson and Palliser Heights schools. After retiring, she pursued her hobby of water color painting and became an avid traveller, spending much of every year visiting with friends in the USA, Mexico and particularly Europe where, always curious and eager to learn, she studied languages and art. Patricia is predeceased by her husband, Barry Stevens; parents Frank and Lillian Joyner; sister Thelma Staples and brother Ted Joyner. She will be sadly missed by her sons Peter (Cheryl), Brendan (Kelly), and grandson Jakaeden. A Celebration of Patricia’s life will take place at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday August 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In living memory of Patricia, a memorial planting will be made by W. J.
