Former employees of the Moose Jaw pork plant are still waiting to see if they can get their old jobs back, while hoping for the best.

The heat and power are still on and most of the paper work and inspections have been done. Now, it's just a matter of time and organization before Moose Jaw's pork plant gets back up and running.

Our pork plant has been closed for most of the past 3 years. The trouble started back in May of 2005 when the Japanese owners of WorldWide Pork couldn't pay the bills. Now partners in Taiwan and Alberta have leased the plant.

Tim Andrews is a long time pork plant employee.

"It’s moving ahead but its not moving ahead as quickly as we had hoped. We’re not alarmed by that because the partners are on the other side of the world and in another province. Its takes communication and trying to get everybody organized to be able to meet at the same time and that's causing some problems. Their hope is to have it up and running by mid February or the end of February. We haven't heard of any reason as to why that might not happen so it looks positive."
