The finishing touches have been put on the 106th annual general meeting and convention for the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association.

The focus this year’s convention, which was in Moose Jaw, was on success and sustainability.

SSGA president Bill Huber said it was a productive AGM with good turnout and a wide range of topics important to the livestock industry in Saskatchewan.

Resolutions that were adopted at the convention include lobbying governments to include cash grazing rent as an eligible expense under the AgriStability program.

Other resolutions will ask to include two targeted grazing passes as an eligible expense under the Canadian Agriculture Partnership.

They will also ask for funding for additional seats on the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. to address the rural large animal veterinarians in the province.
