Brandon Bluecloud, a man accused of stabbing an individual with a syringe in downtown Moose Jaw last October will likely have his case resolved next week.

Bluecloud appeared via video in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Thursday. Legal Aid lawyer Zack Anderson appeared for Bluecloud’s lawyer Deanna Harris.

Anderson said the matter would be resolved, but a last-minute issue meant Harris was not available to appear. In previous appearances, Bluecloud’s mental state during the offense has come into question.

According to police, a customer inside a downtown business on Oct. 3, 2023, was approached from behind and stabbed multiple times in the lower back region with a syringe.

Bluecloud will be back in court on July 10 when it is expected that the file will come to a conclusion.

Bluecloud is facing charges including aggravated assault, mischief, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and failing to comply with an undertaking.
