** Changed to reflect decision on Men's Final being left vacant this year **

The weather was touch and go on Saturday, but it wrapped up with a beautiful day on Sunday for the Moose Jaw Tennis Club’s annual Club Championship on the courts in Crescent Park.

Over 40 competitors entered in the year end tournament that was spread across Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, Mixed Doubles, as well as Junior Singles and Doubles.

There was also a recreational championship this year for those looking for a less competitive tournament.

The Men’s Singles title was left vacant this year after the final wasn't played on Sunday.  The board decided there would be no title awarded.

Joan Buckmaster captured the Women’s Singles championship with a straight set win over Xeing Bronson, topping her 7-5 and 6-0.

Mathew Martineau picked up a three set win over Jacob Radwanski to win the Junior Singles title.  It was a back-and-forth battle with Martineau taking the first set 6-2, but falling in the second set 7-6, before closing out the win with a 6-1 win in the third set.

Radwanski didn’t go home empty handed though as him and Kaelin Krukoff won the Junior Doubles title in straight sets over Austin and Harry Lin, winning 6-3 and 6-2.

Jim Kirkpatrick and Gene Rizak are the Men’s Doubles champions after they knocked off Brian Swanson and Kim Hagen in the final.

The Women’s Doubles title went to Nora Bowler and Jeanette Rattee over Brigette Wiebe and Jan Jones in three sets.  Wiebe and Jones won the first set 6-4, but Bowler and Rattee bounced back to win the next two sets, 6-4 and 6-3.

The Mixed Doubles title will be played this week.
