A deadly start to the weekend here in Saskatchewan after three people have died in two seperate crashes and six others have been taken to hospitals with undetermined injuries.

RCMP responded to both crashes early Saturday morning.

The first one happened on Highway 40 near Neilburg just before five, a truck entered the ditch, struck an approach and rolled.  An 18-year-old male from the Marsden District was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.  The other male was taken to hospital.

The second one happened on Highway 47 south of Preeceville just before 7am.  A truck with seven occupants went into the ditch and rolled as well.

A 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old male, both from Sturgis, died at the scene.  Five others were taken to hospital in Preeceville and Canora.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in that crash.   Both remain under investigation.
