A day of prizes, food, and golf, all for a good cause.

The Moose Jaw Transition House will be hosting their second annual charity golf tournament in August at Deer Ridge Golf and Country Club, and it's shaping up to be a full day.

It all kicks off on Thursday, August 19 with registration, an open driving range and a putting contest at 11 a.m., a bbq sponsored by the Moose Jaw Coop at 11:30, then the golf begins with a shotgun start at noon, followed by a steak supper and penny parade at 5:30 p.m.

Executive Director of the Transition House, Jenn Angus, says they have a plethora of prizes to hand out this year as well.

"There are chances to win a hole-in-one car sponsored by Knight Automotive Group, WestJet has donated a roundtrip trip for two people anywhere WestJet flies that we will have as a raffle, we'll have a penny parade, prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and more. There will be lots of fun stuff."

Individuals can register for $125, or a team of four can sign up for $400 - which also includes a cart, dinner, welcome bag, and more

"Funds raised at this event go directly towards helping the women and children in need of our services," says Angus. "This year we're very much focusing on our outreach services, which would be supporting women through group programming, peer support, life skills, education, etcetera."

She goes on to say that anyone looking to register, donate a prize, or sponsor a hole can call her at 306-693-6511 ext. 3, or email contact@mj-transitionhouse.com.

Angus also thanks everyone who has helped with the preparation of the event, has donated prizes, and who plans to attend.
