Did you get the phone call?  Many who did took the time and took advantage, taking part in the City of Moose Jaw's telephone survey on curbside waste and recycling collection.

400 surveys were completed and we've learned 85% of respondents prefer back alley pickup over front curbside collection.  But, hang on a minute.  With estimated cost savings of curbside factored in, only 51% of respondents said they preferred back alley pickup.  This, after they learned or were reminded that we save $152,000 a year if we stick with the front curbside collection.

It's also interesting to note, the two greatest concerns from locals are "having a convenient storage area for the garbage cart" and "having the cart stay safely secured on the street".

It'll be interesting to see what Moose Jaw City Hall does with the results.

I know it's not working for some but front curbside collection works well in my neighbourhood and if it means we save some money, I'm all for it.
