The City of Moose Jaw is advising motorists of temporary traffic disruptions for excavation and tree trimming work.

The 0 block of Athabasca Street West will be closed today and tomorrow for excavation. Intersections at Main Street North and First Avenue Northwest will remain open, as will sidewalks.

Transit users should note the Route 3 stop at Timothy Eaton Gardens, 510 Main Street North, will be out of service during the work. Route 2 will not be affected.

Tree trimming will also cause closures and lane restrictions. Stadacona Street West will be closed Nov. 27 at the 800 block and Nov. 28 between the 700 and 800 blocks.

Lane restrictions are scheduled Dec. 1 to 5 at various locations:

  • Dec. 1: 700 and 500 Stadacona Street West, 1000 Hall Street West
  • Dec. 2: 1000 Edmonton Street, 900–1000 Francis Street
  • Dec. 3: 900–1000 Francis Street, 900–1000 Henry Street, 1000 James Street
  • Dec. 4: 900–1000 James Street
  • Dec. 5: 900–1000 Simcoe Street

Additionally, a series of lane closures are coming to Manitoba Street East today through Dec. 2, to allow for rail tie replacements to take place. From today until Saturday, Nov. 29, both eastbound lanes are set to be closed, with a two-way traffic accommodation in place in the westbound lanes.

Then, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, closures to the westbound lanes are scheduled, with a two-way traffic accommodation in place to allow east and westbound traffic to flow in the area.

The city is asking drivers to use caution and follow posted signage.
