Two more residents who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died, as 169 new cases were announced Thursday and 168 recoveries.

One of the residents who died was in the 50-59 age group from the southeast, and one was in the 70-79 age group from the northeast.

Of the new cases, three are located in the south-central zone, 46 are in Saskatoon, 41 in Regina, 27 in the far northwest, 15 in the far northeast, 10 in the northwest, nine in the north-central zone, five in the central-east, four in the central-west, two in the southeast and one in the southwest. Six cases are pending resident information.

1,422 cases are considered active, and all 34 of the active cases located in the south-central zone are in the sub-region 'south-central 2', which is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area.

146 people are in hospital with 126 receiving inpatient care, and 20 are in intensive care.

VACCINE UPDATE

An additional 2,493 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 84,090.

The 2,493 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered in the following regions: Far North East (11), North East (10), North West (6), North Central (12), Central East (174), South East (188) Saskatoon (951), and Regina (1141).
