Icy roads are being blamed for the deaths of two Saskatchewan residents after two separate rollovers Monday evening.

Icy roads are being blamed for two fatal crashes in southern Saskatchewan Monday evening, one claiming the life of a Moose Jaw man.

Around 7 o'clock a 4 door car lost control and rolled on Highway 2, 25 kilometres south of Moose Jaw near Con's Corner. The driver and lone occupant was killed as a result.

About half an hour earlier a Swift Current man was killed on Highway 4 north of that city when a pickup truck was attempting to pass another vehicle when it apparently lost control and hit the ditch. The 59-year-old male driver was killed.

RCMP believe icy road conditions contributed to both crashes and are advising caution when travelling.
