The Moose Jaw U12 B Ice split a pair of games on Sunday, defeating Gravelbourg while falling to the U12 A Ice in girls' fastball action.

It's been a difficult season for the U12 Ice teams as their provincial championships have been canceled.

"We were really looking forward to provincials and competing well at it. We are still getting them a lot of games, they are staying in them, they're having fun," said A-team coach Rick Adrian. "They are playing provincial calibre ball at most of these games too."

B-team coach Shawn Okerstrom said they've been able to find games despite the setback.

"We played Regina league and there wasn't a lot of competition there. This weekend ended up being the end of our season. We still have one more game, but it won't be hard in Regina," Okerstrom said.

On Sunday afternoon, the B Ice defeated Gravelbourg 10-5 at Optimist Field. Moose Jaw had a pair of four-run innings early to pick up the victory.

Then on Sunday, the B Ice ran into stiffer competition against the A Ice.

The A Ice picked up five runs in the first inning to cruise to a 6-1 victory at Optimist Field.

"Other than the jitters in the first inning where we gave up those five runs it was a tie game. It was a pitchers' duel," Okerstrom.

The B Ice wrap up their season on Tuesday in Regina against the Royals.
