The Moose Jaw U18 AA Warriors are hoping to rebound off a pair of losses against the Lumsden/Bethune Lions with a weekend series against the Notre Dame Argos.

The Warriors lost 6-2 Friday at home and 5-3 Sunday in Lumsden to the Lions over the weekend.

Saturday’s game was tied at 2-2 in the third period before a six-minute lapse saw the Lions score thrice and claimed the Warriors’ chances. The Warriors’ goals had been scored by Connor Ruckaber and Noah Osiowy. Landyn Maclachlan saved 43 in the Moose Jaw net.

Sunday’s goals were scored by Ashton Glova, Lyndon Fell and Erik Tittemore. Jayden Watterson stopped 44 shots.

The 0-and-3 Warriors won't be taking anything for granted against Notre Dame despite the fact the Argos haven't had a game yet this season.

“It’s going to be a tough one moving forward and it’s going to be quite a situation because we play them Friday on the big slab in ND, and then come home and play them in Mosaic,” said Russell. “That’s what we have to prepare for, utilizing that big space, utilizing that open ice. They know how to play it. They may not have played yet this year, but we know they’ve been practicing on it every day and they’ve had scrimmages against some of their other teams.”

Friday’s game will be at the Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox. Puck drops Saturday afternoon at 2:15 at Mosaic Place.
