The 2023 4A girls volleyball provincials are being held in Moose Jaw this weekend at both Vanier Collegiate and A.E. Peacock Collegiate.

The ten teams competing include Vanier, Central, Martensville, Melville, Humbolt, Lumsden, Nipawin, NB John Paul II, Regina Luther, and Meadow Lake.

Vanier's first game is a noon on Friday against Melville at Vanier, while Central's first action is Friday at noon against Nipawin at Peacock.

The Vanier Spirits are going into the tournament as the number-one ranked seed in the province. The Spirits are coming off a thrilling 5-set city championship win over Peacock on Tuesday night. Vanier finished regular league play with a 6-0 record and was perfect in the regional playdowns last weekend. The Spirits last won the provincial title back in 2019.

"There's a lot of teams from the north that we really haven't seen play yet that I think are pretty strong and are going to put up a good challenge. So I think we just need to be really ready," said Spirits head coach Aly Bell.

The Central Cyclones made it to the regional final at Regina Johnson last weekend, losing in the final to Vanier.
