The Moose Jaw Legion is giving away a total of $20,000 through a raffle fundraiser.

The money will be split into 10 prizes including a main prize of $10,000, $3,000 for second, $2,000 for third, and a fourth prize worth $1,500. Fifth prize will be $1,000 with the remaining five prizes worth $500.

"This is the first time we've done it," explained Past-President Roy LaBuick. "This is a pretty big undertaking for us. We haven't done a draw like this before but we thought that this something I think we could do in this community and I think there'd be good support there from members of the community. For a $20 ticket for a chance to win $10,000, that's not too bad out of 2,000 tickets."

Funds raised will go to support veterans, including serving military and RCMP members and their families and to promote Remembrance.

Tickets will be sold at the Moose Jaw Legion until October 28 (while supplies last) with the draw taking place on October 30 at 1:30 p.m. You do not have to be present to win.

LaBuick says the public is welcome to sell tickets on their behalf.

"If you'd like to take and sign out a book, come on down to the office or to the lounge and ask one of our staff to sign you out a book. If you'd like to take one back to the office to sell or to your workplace or on your camping trip, you're more than welcome to."
