Defenceman Max Wanner, who is from Estevan, is fresh off a training camp stint with the Edmonton Oilers. He recently signed a two-way, entry level contract with the Oilers worth $846,667 annually over three seasons.
He said the experience at Oilers training camp was fantastic.
"Obviously as a young kid, it's a really exciting experience...just to be out there with the best players in the world," Wanner said. "I was lucky enough to get into my first pre-season game, and get my feet wet and just see what the hockey is like. It's something every kid looks forward to, and just hoping that I can have more experiences like that in the future."
Wanner is now back with the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors for this hockey season.
