At least 10 people are dead, according to Saskatchewan RCMP, following a string of stabbings in the James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon area.

Saskatchewan RCMP met with the media Sunday afternoon to give an update on the manhunt to find two suspects in the stabbings.

The suspects are Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson. Damien is 5-foot-7, 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Myles is 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

“Currently, we are actively looking for the two suspects and helping the victims. We are dedicating the maximum amount of resources to this investigation,” said Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore, Commanding Officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP.

Overall, 10 bodies have been found and there are 13 active crime scenes in James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon. RCMP say there are at least 15 other victims are in hospital and several others there were treated on-scene. Police believe there could be more victims in the hospital that transported themselves. According to police, some victims were targeted, while others were attacked randomly. There is no indication from RCMP that there were any other attacks outside of James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon.

They are asking Regina residents to take the proper precautions and consider sheltering in place. Do not leave a secure location.
