An advisory and water limit was issued out at Buffalo Pound last Friday thanks to a leak in pipe that carries the main water source from the Water Treatment Plant but things are going to be just fine as campers try to get one last weekend in at the local park.

Manager Dave Bjarnason said after testing on Wednesday, they were given the green light to proceed as normal.

"There will not be any restrictions on water usage and further to that, we've had two clear samples from the provincial lab that enable us to lift the boil water advisory that was placed on our system last Friday."

Some campers were concerned that there wouldn't be access to showers and drinking water for the weekend, as the summer unofficially comes to an end. While there isn't a water advisory anymore, Bjarnason is still warning campers of the fire ban that continues to be in place until further notice over concerns of dry conditions that could lead to wildfires.

A fire ban is in effect for Crown land in Saskatchewan south of the Churchill River system because of the extreme wildfire hazard.  For many, there has been a fire ban for a couple months but this new ban is for all Crown land and their surrounding recreation areas, including provincial parks.

Open fires and fireworks are prohibited, but certain items are allowed for cooking and heating.  If you're heading out this weekend, be sure to check the regulations upon checking in.
