Several Saskatchewan communities will be aided by investments in water and wastewater infrastructure.

The governments of Canada and Saskatchewan will contribute up to $27 million each for eight projects across the province.

Those include projects in Martensville, Melfort and North Battleford, and they are being funded through the Building Canada Fund.

“Modern water and wastewater infrastructure is essential to safeguarding the well-being of Canadian families and building the Canada we want for tomorrow,” said Ralph Goodale, Federal Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

“The Government of Saskatchewan is proud to be investing more than $27.3 million toward these important water and wastewater infrastructure projects,” said Warren Kaeding, Provincial Government Relations Minister.
