Riverview Collegiate has been packed with people over the last week as the Five Hills Health Region began their mass immunization clinics for the H1N1 flu virus.

Over the last few days they have been giving close to 900 people a day the shot and while you may feel the worst of virus might be behind us, Medical Health Officer Dr. Mark Vooght encourages those who haven't gotten the shot to still head to a clinic and get it, "At this time last week we were already looking at 30 per cent of our population have had one immunization with the H1N1 vaccine, this is good, and it would be really be nice to be able to work up towards two thirds, 66 per cent of our population, and I think that would be extremely good for trying prevent future waves into the new year."

Vooght says the turnout to the clinics at Riverview was pretty impressive, "We had to, for example, lay on extra nurses at Riverview Collegiate and in fact for the last two days we've done 900 people a day and in fact for the whole Health Region we did 1,700 shots yesterday, which is really tremendous."

The clinics continue next week here in the Friendly City, you can find a full listing of dates, times and locations by clicking here .
