It could be a dry spring, as the Water Security Agency is predicting “well below normal” spring runoff for Moose Jaw and the surrounding area for 2021.

According to its initial runoff report that was released on Friday, the area covering Moose Jaw, Regina, Weyburn and Estevan are looking at well below normal runoff.

Meanwhile, the far north is projected to some wet conditions this spring with above normal runoff.

Parts of central and northern Saskatchewan, as well as the far southwest corner of the province, are estimated to see near-normal runoff.

The remainder of the province is expected to see below-normal runoff.

The Water Security Agency said the runoff outlook could still change with eight to 10 weeks of winter still remaining. The first spring runoff forecast is expected to come out in early March.
